- HIBI-VIV is an antiseptic effective against a wide variety of gram-negative and gram-positive organisms, facultative anaerobes, aerobes, and yeast.
- HIBI-VIV is used as an ingredient of bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal formulations, and acts by membrane disruption.
- It is used as a topical antiinfective for mucous membranes and as preservative for eye drops.
- HIBI-VIV is also used as an antiseptic ingredient used in mouthwash to prevent oral plaque, and bacteria infections.
- Predominantly used for hand scrubs.
- Used as a skin preparation.
- Activity can be reduced by anionic surfactants found in many hand lotions.
- Hospital Disinfectant: Surgical scrubs, surgical wipes, surgical lubricants, dental preparations for treatment of gingivitis.
- Personal Care: Hand soaps, skin preparations and cosmetics.
- Veterinary: Pet shampoos, teat dips, lubricants, horse scrubs and solutions to treat skin conditions in both companion animals and livestock.
